Disease
“Whoever has more than four legs was born with an infectious disease. — The Prophet”
Nobody knew who started the rumor, but, thanks to the Internet, it became widespread in a matter of hours. The public soon went into a panic and the government had no idea how to respond.
A mantis escaped from his hostile neighborhood. When he was running for life, he met a centipede family. Seeing him hungry and tired, the centipedes took him in.
“Thank you so much for saving me. Oh, Lord, why would anyone believe that vicious lie?”
The mantis cried while chewing on the food prepared by the centipedes.
“Yes,” the centipedes looked at each other, shaking their heads. “What kind of world are we living in? We are so afraid of leaving the house.”
The next morning, the mantis left the centipedes’ house in a hurry.
On his way out, he ran into an injured spider that was crawling in the centipedes’ direction.
“What are you doing, my friend?” asked the mantis, as he stopped the spider in the middle of the road.
“I am going to ask the centipedes for help. Everyone has turned crazy out there. This is a witch hunt now,” replied the teary spider.
“Ah, you can’t go there. Wait, have you heard, my friend?”
“Heard about what?”
The mantis took out his phone and showed it to the spider.
“Whoever has more than eight legs was born with a deadly infectious disease. It’s incurable. — The Prophet”
Situations do not change who we are; they are the consequences of who we are.
