Big Fish, Small Fish
The king of the Small Fish Kingdom was anxious — his citizens were constantly hunted and eaten by those from the neighboring Big Fish Kingdom.
He asked his advisors to come up with ideas, but everyone just shook their heads.
Seeing this, the king’s guard, a clam, recalled seeing a warlock passing by the palace the other day and left a message for the king.
“What was it?” asked the king.
“He said he had a way to solve your problem,” replied the clam. “He said it’s something that’s been giving Your Majesty nightmares.”
Out of desperation, the king summoned the warlock.
The next day, the warlock, in a black cloak, appeared in front of the king.
“Your Majesty,” he greeted the king. “I can help you take out all the big fish. Then you and your lovely citizens can enjoy a peaceful life, without worrying about predators.”
“Tell me your solution. I’ll give you anything!”
“I can use magic to transport their predators, X, here. X lives on the other side of the ocean.”
The king thought for a second and cheerfully replied, “So they will be hunted themselves! What a brilliant idea!”
“The big fish previously migrated from there to your area because they were scared of X. If anything, X is merciless and very powerful.”
The king was pleased. “What do you need from me?”
“Nothing,” the warlock smiled. “Just give me your blessing or my magic won’t work. It’s forbidden.”
“You have not only my blessing but also that of every small fish in this glorious kingdom, my friend.”
The next day, X came and captured all the big fish in the Big Fish Kingdom.
X was an electric pulse fishing system.
It caught all the small fish in the Small Fish Kingdom too, while their king was finally having a good dream.
The enemy of your enemy is not always your friend.
